Dr MS Raghavendra is an urbanist, educator, researcher, and academic administrator with interests and expertise in sustainable architecture and futures planning of cities.

He contributes as Director of Ashoka School of Planning and Architecture (from February, 2020), after having previously served as Urban Advisor to the Government of Andhra Pradesh (2006-11), as Professor at Administrative Staff College of India (2011-18), and as Founding Director of Woxsen School of Architecture and Planning (2018-20).

Raghavendra is also the Founding Director of Centre for VENUS (Vibrant, Efficient, Networked Urban Settlements), a start-up centre established for research on the sustainable future of cities.

He has developed vision and policy documents on housing and urban development for Governments of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Assam. He contributed on development of the “India Infrastructure Technology Vision 2035” Document for the Government of India.

He was a key member of the team in Government of Andhra Pradesh that secured the National Urban Water Award and other National Awards of Excellence in Urban Service Delivery/eGovernance.

He holds a PhD from the Department of Architecture at the University of Cambridge, where he was supervised by Professor MarcialEchenique. Dr Raghavendra was awarded the prestigious full-cost Gates Cambridge Scholarship for his doctoral education at Cambridge (2002-06). The Mission of the Gates Cambridge Scholarship is to build a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.

He has served as a Jury Member for the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Civil Service, and currently serves on Academic Councils of a few national Schools of Architecture. He has blogged in the Huffington Post, The Better India, and The Gates Cambridge Blog.

Prof Bala Chandran completed his Post Graduation MSc Construction Project Management from UK and is a qualified Architect having 20 years of experience in Project Management and Execution of Commercial Office fit out, New Builds, Office Churns and Work Place Space Planning within Project Management and Design and Build Environments.

His past Record of successful execution and delivery of over 850,000 Sq. Ft. of Fast Track Commercial Office CAT A, CAT B fit outs, Shell and Core, 300,000 Sq. Ft. of New builds and 35,000 Sq. Ft of Data Centre Space.

In-depth knowledge of and hands-on experience in Building Techniques, Logistics, M&E, Security and ICT systems, Planning and Project Management Processes. Motivated, Personable Project Management Professional that is detail and quality oriented and with a proven track record of successful project leadership and high endurance levels during demanding project times.

Prof Bala Chandran has worked in different domains of construction industry from estates, railways, London metro to Interior fit out and comes with business development and project conceptualization experience from varied business partners of the Real Estate Space – International Design firms, International Property Consultants (IPC) and Development firms. Started my career with architectural design experience and gradually shifted to project management side of the industry.

His stint at CBRE secured him various real estate asset classes and business development for Project Management Services. He is currently headinghis own freelance Project Management Consultancy firm and doing design and built project of restaurants and office interiors.

Kislay Kumar

Kislay Kumar graduated with a B.Arch Degree from VNIT Nagpur in 2009. After practicing as an Architect and Construction Manager for 3 years, he then went on to do his master’s in Integrated Design and Construction at Auburn University in the USA.

Kislay Kumar is the Managing Director of Vatsa Project Delivery Solutions, a curtain wall consultancy with clients in the US. He has over 12 years of experience in the construction industry, spanning across India and the USA.
Prior to starting his own consulting practice, Kislay was working in the curtain wall industry in the US for 7 years. During this time, he worked across all aspects of curtain walls, including their design, fabrication, and installation. His work includes prestigious projects such as the Columbia Forum, designed by Architect Renzo Piano, and La Guardia Airport designed by HoK.

Area of Interest: Pre-fab technologies, modular construction, CAD to CAM integration, and integration of latest technologies in building facades.

Anjani S Mandapaka

Anjani S Mandapaka, a Civil Engineering Graduate from Bhilai Institute of Technology, Durg, always has had an eye for beauty and aesthetics, which inspired her to take up an advanced course from SPA, Delhi, in Housing.

She has worked with many prestigious builders and developers in Hyderabad and Mumbai for around 10 years gaining vast experience in handling hospitality projects, high rise residential projects and premium villa projects with architects like Hafeez Contractor, Sanjay Puri, Space Matrix, Cherry Hills, PMC companies like JLL, International Contractors- Samsung C&T.

This led her to start her own Design and PMC Firm in Hyderabad after completing a Program on Infrastructure Finance Development and Management from NICMAR, Pune.

She has been a good student throughout her career from the beginning starting from NTSE scholarships, Seth Balkrishan Memorial Scholarship to many scholarships and having achieved Silver Medal for the Class of 2014 at NICMAR, Pune.

She also started a Bridge program which emphasizes gaps between the students’ exposure to industry and the built environment needs by running short term and long term bridge trainings and courses for the new entrants to the industry in the areas of onsite experience, leveling up with the industry needs and standards.

Prof Anjani has been associated with my engineering collages across Hyderabad for such bridge programs and FDP programs. She also is a faculty for many certification programs offered by PMI, IGBC, and LEED.

In 2014, Arquitectonia was started with a vision to make spaces more utilizable, quickly convertible and aesthetically elegant. It is also a company where teams are led my women and has been a company with unlimited work from anywhere opportunities from the beginning considering the fact that woman have to juggle between a lot of things and working at the firm should not be burdensome.

The firm has been on the board with many interior design firms like Livspace, Home Lane, Design Café and many more to provide premium interior fit out services and for Architectural services- the firm is a full-time consultant for NABARD, SBI, BIFL, Bhubaneshwar Smart City, Westbridge and many more.

Prof Anjani is also the Hyderabad Chapter Lead for AGNI (Association of Global NICMARians) and has recently been an Ideathon 2.0 winner organized by NICMAR and AGNI. She handles around 1000 AGNI affiliates spread across AP and TS. She has been part of many training and development programs at AGNI also.

Jeevan Mundiwale

MrJeevanMundiwale is an Architect with over 40+ years of professional experience in high quality Indian and International work environments. After completion his graduation from NIT, Nagpur (Then VRCE, Nagpur) IN 1977, he has been involved in projects ranging from Airports, Healthcare, Hospitality, Public Buildings, Leisure, Residential, Infrastructure, Transportation , Industrial and other High rise developments in India, Middle east ( Bahrain and Saudi Arabia), South East Asia (Malaysia and Singapore), France & South America. Apart from this he has experience in academic field which comes in handy during his interaction with young aspiring Architects.

His forte’ is Architectural Design, Quality Control, Project Management and Work Force Management. In the past he had managed work force of of 100+ technical and nontechnical personnel which included Architects, Engineers (Civil, Structural, MEP and other related), Interior Designers, Landscape Architects, Sustainability Specialists, Environmentalists, QS, Aviation Planners and Health Care specialists among others.

During one of his previous engagements, design team under his guidance and supervision won prestigious International Property Award (IPA)_Asia Pacific Region 2018 for a mixed use project in Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh).

Gouri Mohini Kasinadhuni has twenty seven years of professional experience that spans Architecture, Interior Design, Urban design advocacy and teaching. She has had the opportunity to work under renowned architectural firms in different genres – ranging from environmental and sustainable private housing to commercial complexes. Her interiors for select private clients reflect her sense of pragmatism, an eye for functional aesthetics and customer centricity.

Gouri’s strong belief in building architectural sensibilities amongst children and young adults has led her to a fruitful association with educational institutions. These contributions include course design, delivery and continuous programs. She has lived in India, Europe, Singapore and the United States and her travels and experiences have not only sharpened her global and contemporary outlook but have immensely benefited her clients and students.

Vamshidhar Beera is the Principal Architect and Managing Partner at ARCHplus and brings with him more than fifteen years of experience in Architectural and Interior Design.

Prof Vamshidhar is a naturally gifted artist and imparts learning to students on drawing related subjects including Architectural Drawing and Graphics. Prof Vamshidhar has previously taught at JNAFAU and Woxsen School of Rachitecture and Planning.

His award-winning practice includes severalArchitecture, Urban Design, Infrastructure, and mixed-use projects in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Major Divya Pillai has 19 years of experience in Building design, Construction Project Management and instructional training.

Major Divya after completing her studies at Sir JJ College of Architecture Mumbai, worked with Upasani Design Cell (UDC) as an Intern. She then moved to Bangalore to work with Jaffer Design Studio (JDS) under Ar Jaffer Khan, RIBA.
Major Divya joined the Indian Army in 2005 as an Architect in the Corps of Engineers and thereaftercontributed for 7 years with the Indian Army, having expertise in planning, execution and control of infrastructure based highly complex projects under challenging circumstances, with keen interest in design, development and estimation of project feasibility.

She has also been an instructor and teacher, training young officers in the Corps of Engineers from the Indian Army, Sri Lankan Army, Nepal Army, Kazakhstan Army, Afghanistan Army, Laos Army and Botswana Army, with basics of Engineering tactics in an offensive and defensive scenario during war. She is the First Lady Officer to be in an instructional position at a Category A establishment like College of Military Engineering, Pune to train young officers.

After completion of short service with the Indian Army, she went forth to complete a certificate course in Business Management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore. She thereafter also pursued further education from University of Leeds, UK successfully acquiring a Master’s Degree in International Construction Management and Engineering.

She has represented her country and University in group presentations in an International Real estate competition at MIT, USA. Major Divya then passed the USGBC LEED certification exam and was a LEED Green Associate. She has also pursued a Graduate program in Construction Safety Management from National Institute of Construction Management and Research, Pune (NICMAR).

As an Associate partner for Terra Viridis, she was involved in advising clients on Green building rating systems. She was also involved in facilitating the process of Green building rating systems by effective co-ordination, team work and management between client, consultants and the organization.

She has also conducted training programs on behalf of TERRAVIRIDIS for Government Town Planners from all over the country organised by Osmania University emphasizing the role of Green buildings and principles in strategic decision making and planning.

She is presently contributing as a Visiting Faculty, teaching Architectural Design Graphics for 1st year students and Environmental Responsive Design for 3rd year Students. Her love for teaching and training has been the epitome of motivation to be part of this prestigious college. She is also a full time freelancing Interior Designer concentrating on residential and commercial interiors in and around Secunderabad.

Prof Harish has done his Masters in Landscape Architecture from Sheffield in 2009, with 3 years’ work experience from Ark DM in the UK. He worked with BDP, New Delhi in the past and has been working with his father Dr. Vangara Ram Prasad, a horticulturist and Designer since his intermediate days.

His collective experience includes a wide range of facilities including Residential Houses, Resorts
Hotels, Farm Houses, Urban High-Rise commercial complexes, Mixed used Complexes, High–rise and Mid-rise, Condominium Buildings and Large Scale Residential Development.

He has founded iammies landscapes which is 7 years old and is an ardent follower of MiesVan der Rohe.iammies landscapes has inclination towards minimal and contemporary landscapes.

Their specialty is to balance the needs of the client and the potential of the land upon which the landscape design will take shape. No matter the project, iammies landscapes is committed to bringing the highest value and greatest creativity to the project.Harish Vangara will bring his wealth of experience in landscape architecture to the project.

She sees herself as a creative person who is ready to bring cutting edge ideas to the table and undertake the responsibility to see them through.

Anju has over a decade a work experience that is diverse across sectors of private, public and not for profit. Anju is passionate about teaching since she truly believes that it’s the young minds that can be nurtured to be sensitive and caring towards one another and the planet. Dheeraj is an architect whose practice comes in with a deep understanding of Vernacular Architecture through local enquiry and developing appropriate prototypes in their context.


While in the college an internship at Smita and Habeeb Khan Associates (Nagpur),Ar Habeeb Khan’s works have given him an introduction to designing residential and recreational projects with an influence of local elements of architecture and materials. A one month volunteering term at Hunarshala(Bhuj) has opened him to the world of contemporary vernacular architecture.


He goes on to do his apprenticeship with ThannalHand Sculpted Homes,Tiruvannamalai,Tamil Nadu,India .Ar.Biju Bhaskar and family have given him the most enriching experience at Thannal, to be able to unlearn the modern form of vernacular architecture and start to understand it in close proximity by constantly engaging with experienced artisans and immense hands on work while understanding ways to work in harmony with the people and life in the vicinity.
These experiences at the grassroot level in natural building are shared through ‘Pucca Local'(an organisation he co-founded with Ananth Nagarajan) organizes workshops towards creating awareness on the crucial part traditional vernacular architecture plays in creating self-sustainable communities.

Pawan Nagoorkar

Ar. Pawan Damodar Nagoorkar studied Architecture at Sri Venkateshwara College of Architecture, Hyderabad under the leadership of Dr. Pramod Shinde, who was one of the first people in India to have a Doctorate Degree in Architecture. In the process of pursuing an Architecture degree, working on student level design competitions and exposure of social interactions in architecture widened his horizon of learning.

During internship at Ahmedabad with the internationally acclaimed practice, Matharoo Associates, the Initial training in the Hands of Ar.GurjitsinghMatharoo (F.R.I.B.A) and Late.ProfM.C.Gajjar, Faculty at CEPT Ahmedabad, turned learning into an intense activity ranging between Architectural Brutalism to Automobile Design.

Working at Bangalore with award winning firm like Maya praxis helped in understanding the Idea of Sustainability, Cost efficient, Vernacular and Down to Earth Architecture.

He has also worked in Hyderabad as a Senior Architect with FHD Group, another multifaceted award winning firm dealing with large scale habitats, where Pawan was responsible for handling numerous projects of which a sea facing Resort – Sheraton grand Chennai is one of the noted projects in India.


Pawan runs a practice called studio A+PN, which has been awarded as the most promising Startup in Retail Space Design in 2021. Pawan has been teaching since 2018 and is invited to design juries at prestigious Schools of Architecture and has mentored several thesis students over the years.

He has been invited by various institutes for workshops on Evolving Forms in Architectural Design. He has also been invited as a workshop Mentor for the 59th edition of Annual NASA held at POORNIMA University, Jaipur.

Vinay is currently an academician who is also a practicing freelance sustainability consultant. His interest predominantly lies in the area of Life Cycle Assessment for circular economy which is an inculcated product of my professional career.
Vinay’s career is permeated with teaching and working in the field of sustainability and building services. He has been actively participating in the seminars and workshop in sustainable development and had delivered presentations on relevant topics. Vinay had also published a paper on “LCA for Sustainability Refurbishment of Traditional Structures”.


During his professional practice, he has actively strived to obtain the credentials pertaining to the sustainability and built environment and earned accreditations from multiple associations like EcoDistrict AP, LEED GA, ISO 14001. He was also awarded appreciation certificates from top companies like HBK, Dar-al-handasah. etc for the contribution of his work towards one of the world’s most acclaimed architectural project, “Katara Twin Towers”.

Ankit Kalantri graduated in Masters in Landscape Design from CEPT University, India, in 2017. Since college days, he was deeply interested in studying materials & its impact. The curiosity to understand the implications of materials in landscape design paved way for this research thesis which was awarded with the Best Thesis Award at CEPT. He has presented a research paper at IFLA, Bangkok, in 2017.


He has established a Landscape Architectural Practice, Studio Kadamb, in 2019. He is deeply involved in teaching since 2017 and has been as a Visiting Faculty at SPA, Hyderabad, Woxsen School of Architecture, and more recently, Ashoka School of Planning and Architecture.

Jaya Sushma Palla

Sushma is a freelancing Architect practising Architecture and Interior designing in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. She is a B.Arch graduate from JNAFAU and finished post-graduation in Urban and Regional Planning from the same University. Sushma has been into Architectural teaching since 2018. Prior to teaching she worked with Fluid Grid Architects and ASCI as an architect.

Apoorva Gautam

Apoorva, a 28 year Indian woman, who after studying architecture for 5 years ventured into her interest for landscape architecture. After a year working in a corporate environment, she came to a choice of quitting her job as a landscape designer and started to volunteer 7 months on a farm for the International Permaculture Convergence held in Hyderabad, in the year 2017.


She did Permaculture Design Course in June 2017 with her mentor NarsannaKoppula,got certified as a permaculture teacher with pioneer Rosemary Morrow in October 2018 and did her permaculture consultancy training with Sarah & Eunice from GUILDA, an Australian firm in October 2019 at Aranya Permaculture Academy.


She recently did her training of Mindful Facilitation for Social Empowerment with Gaia education’s Global Ecovillage Network in Thailand in January, 2020 and now is the co-founder of Vruksha Designs in India with Nagendra Kumaar.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Nandini Ghose is an Architect and Transport Planner with 2.5 years of teaching experience and 2 years of professional experience.

As an Architect Planner, she was involved in street development works in Kasganj Lucknow, GIS based Master Plan preparation of Eluru and Jangareddygudem (AP) and Road Junction improvement works in Kiraoli (UP).

Chethan Kumar

Chethan Kumar completed graduation in Architecture from SVCA (affiliated to JNAFAU), Hyderabad in 2016 and completed his Master’s Program from “School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi” in 2020.

His interests lie in creative cities spatial planning, statutory planning and people-oriented design. His interest in creative cities and the infusion in technology led him to undertake a master’s thesis on the topic ‘Towards Imagining the Creative Knowledge City’ in the case of Hi-tech city, Hyderabad, with a strong focus on driving the city in a creative way and providing opportunities for artists.

Being interested in the transformation of the old core area led her to undertake a master’s thesis about retaining the identity of the Old Town in the case of Visakhapatnam with a strong focus on making liveableneighbourhoods for different communities. He contributes as Director of Ashoka School of Planning and Architecture (from February, 2020), after having previously served as Urban Advisor to the Government of Andhra Pradesh (2006-11), as Professor at Administrative Staff College of India (2011-18), and as Founding Director of Woxsen School of Architecture and Planning (2018-20).

Raghavendra is also the Founding Director of Centre for VENUS (Vibrant, Efficient, Networked Urban Settlements), a start-up centre established for research on the sustainable future of cities.

He has developed vision and policy documents on housing and urban development for Governments of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, and Assam. He contributed on development of the “India Infrastructure Technology Vision 2035” Document for the Government of India.

He was a key member of the team in Government of Andhra Pradesh that secured the National Urban Water Award and other National Awards of Excellence in Urban Service Delivery/eGovernance.

He holds a PhD from the Department of Architecture at the University of Cambridge, where he was supervised by Professor MarcialEchenique. Dr Raghavendra was awarded the prestigious full-cost Gates Cambridge Scholarship for his doctoral education at Cambridge (2002-06). The Mission of the Gates Cambridge Scholarship is to build a global network of future leaders committed to improving the lives of others.

Kislay Kumar is the Managing Director of Vatsa Project Delivery Solutions, a curtain wall consultancy with clients in the US. He has over 12 years of experience in the construction industry, spanning across India and the USA.
Prior to starting his own consulting practice, Kislay was working in the curtain wall industry in the US for 7 years. During this time, he worked across all aspects of curtain walls, including their design, fabrication, and installation. She has worked with many prestigious builders and developers in Hyderabad and Mumbai for around 10 years gaining vast experience in handling hospitality projects, high rise residential projects and premium villa projects with architects like Hafeez Contractor, Sanjay Puri, Space Matrix, Cherry Hills, PMC companies like JLL, International Contractors- Samsung C&T.

This led her to start her own Design and PMC Firm in Hyderabad after completing a Program on Infrastructure Finance Development and Management from NICMAR, Pune.
